The minimum charge for any job is 4 hours on site: $360 ($90 per hour). Once a job runs past 4 hours, the full-day rate of $640 applies — a flat rate that includes travel to and from the property, to and from suppliers, and a daily break. All rates are labour-only; materials are quoted and agreed with you before we buy anything. Jobs expected to take more than one day are quoted individually before work begins. These rates apply to standard business-hours residential work, Monday to Friday, and are confirmed at the time of booking.
A 50% deposit is required to lock in your booking — the date is not confirmed until the deposit is received. The balance is due on the day the work is completed, unless other arrangements have been agreed in writing in advance.
We ask for at least 24 hours' notice to reschedule or cancel a confirmed booking.
John's Handyman Service is a fully insured business. We are not a registered building practitioner. Victorian regulations require a Domestic Building licence for painting work valued over $10,000 — John's Handyman Service does not undertake painting projects above this threshold.
